Erran Carmel, PhD

Erran Carmel is a Professor at American University’s Kogod School of Business. He is a former dean and former department chair. As a futurist he has been teaching futures classes since 2010 at both undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, he teaches or has taught courses on: technology strategy, emerging technology, blockchain, collaborative technology, digital commerce, and more.  He writes on the future, including recently “The multi-dimensional space of the futures of work.” He is best known for his multi-decade research on the globalization of technology work—and is the author of three books in this area. He has been a Visiting Professor at University of Haifa (Israel), University College Dublin (Ireland), Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile), Beijing Normal University (China), and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy).
