Program Overview

Leading from the Future embraces a pluralistic approach to strategic foresight.

Our foresight scholars, who are pioneers in this field, embrace a pluralistic approach that acknowledges five diverse traditions: empirical-positivist, critical-normative, cultural-interpretive, empowerment-participatory, and integral, as well as six sub-competencies developed by the Association of Professional Futurists (APF).

Scoping the project, defining the focal issue and current conditions.

Exploring signals of change or indicators of the future.

Identifying a baseline and alternative futures.

Developing and committing to a preferred future.

Developing prototypes, offerings, or artifacts to achieve the vision and goals.

Enabling organizations to generate options to alternative futures.

When equipped with these forward-thinking skills, organizations are well-prepared to anticipate change and thrive in an ever-evolving world.
